I'll look to see if I can find the loop, that may be my issue, I'm dealing with two fields, one that gives a list of custom records, the other vendors. If the custom record field is populated, the workflow looks to the custom record to retrieve the vendor ID to populate the vendor field, if there is no value in the custom record field, it will instead create a new vendor and paired custom record, recording the result in both fields
