Hello guys, is it possible to create a report grouped by customer containing sales orders an return authorizations? I am trying to create one because it seems that the default Sales order by Customer does not return the sales containing gift cards (I have read that it can be because the type of item or the account associated) since I am not sure of this, I am trying the workaround to create a new report from scratch

I would start with a transaction Saved Search, include Types SO & RA. Results Order By Customer. You cold include "Created From" to see where the RA started. Then I'm not sure what you want to see from there.

I was trying to get the info in a report but I realized that the Transaction Report is different than a Transaction Saved Search, a Transaction Report says: All Posting Transactions and I am not sure if this is globally true but the SO/RA are not recognized as posting. so I could not use that. What I want is to create a report that includes sales orders containing gift certificates (for some reason the reports provided by NetSuite do not include these sales) . After testing a few things I was only able to include gift certifcates from cash sales and not from SO/RA. I would probably try a saved search, the thing is that people would want to see the information exactly as it is displayed on a report.

By definition SO & RA are non posting. What is the original business question?

Thanks for the clarification! I am a dev/tech guy, I am not much familiar with accounting/financial concepts. People who use the Sales Orders by Customer want to see there or in another report the sales order containing gift certificate, I think there is a reason why these sales are not included there, do you know why those transactions are not included in those reports? could it be something special to set in the gift certificate or other place?

Check the criteria to see what other conditions are being considered. I'm not familiar with why gift certificates would be excluded. "Reports" do have exact structures so if NS decided that a report wont include something then you cannot add it. Saved Search will give more flexibility

Thank you! Yeah I removed all the filters (except the dates) and that data was not there. We will ask NetSuite if there is a way to get that data in a report, if not the saved search will be the way to go.
