Is there no way to pull the data in for the line column disc. taken on customer payments? I have looked all through searching and can't find anything nor does SuiteAnswers really have any good data.

I think there's a way to do it - but it was really backwards when I did it. That's all I remember.
Something about applying transaction joins and searching from the customer payment and including the discount field.
Wish I could remember more - but I do remember that it took me well over an hour to find the right combination of joins/fields and then another hour or two tweaking it until it came out exactly the way they wanted.

Yikes. Okay. It does seem like it's buried deep for some reason.

Create a Saved Search of Bills and Bill Payments that will show the Early Payment Discount or Discount Taken Amount Published 08/17/2012 12:28 PM | Updated 08/24/2020 11:58 AM | Answer Id: 24092
Similar concepts should apply on the customer side.

Unfortunately, this seems to be showing the amount after discount and not the discount itself. End user wants to not have to look at GL impact to see if the total discount taken is correct when she's processing a payment. I don't know if this search is going to allow me to populate a field with what she wants.

If you are wanting to do this while looking at the transaction before save - you'll definitely have to script it.
That said - can't they just look at the "apply" total and compare it to the transaction total to be deposited? Little calculator work never killed anyone...

She doesn't want to use a calculator. 🙂
They're really pushing for time saving measures, so I'm just trying to help where I can.
k
Fair enough - but this one is definitely a script.

I was able to create a post-submit field. That seems to have made her day. I just filtered by the discount account and that seems to have done the trick. Thanks!
