I have two Custom records (say 1 & 2). Custom record 2 holds some external staff data. I want to show this data in the sublist tab in Custom record 1. I created a saved search on Custom record 2 and set 'name' field on the available filters as required to have the search in the sublist but it's not appearing. Missed something?

What relates customer 1 to customer 2? How would customer 2 information be appearing in the customer 1?

there are no direct relationship. I hope you will tell me that's needed. I just saw a whole bunch of saved searches available and figured I can just create one and it would appear as long as there is a list/record type field defined as an available filter

if there is no relationship between the two fields, i don't see how one would show up on the other.

OK, so I have added a field on custom record 1 that is of type list/record and references custom record 2. what I now see the drop down list in the subtab. should i create a field in custom record 2 that references custom record 1?

@mg2017 on your field that you created on record 1, check the box that says "record is parent"
