Agreed. Unless you want to play around just to learn, I would always start with Saved Searches still and only go to Workbooks if you find something you can't do in a search. Like multi-level joins or fields you can't access.

I think the problem with this approach is that Workbook-exclusive use cases are so few and far between it makes the learning curve really steep. Every time you have to do it you're re-learning What we really need is someone to sacrifice themselves to the cause and do everything in workbooks. Not me, of course!

When I had the time, I was occasionally rebuilding any search I was building as a workbook. Haven't had the time much lately though.
