does anyone know how to get today's date in an analytics workbook?

I haven't tried, but usually anything that isn't obvious requires a Formula Field... Have you tried using the SYSDATE function?

If you have the date field in your criteria, after you drag and drop it in there, for the filter information choose "date ranges" and then set it to "on today". That is, if you're looking for say transactions from today. Or are you looking at using it in a formula?

@Nicolas Bean Are you trying to write it to a result page, or use it in a criteria as chloe mentions?

I am trying to use it in a formula field as what Cloë has mentioned won't work in my specific circumstance

yea, try SYSDATE function

I want to have IF TODAY + 30 DAYS THEN XYZ VALUE ELSE NULL END

the only drawback is that uses the timezone of the server it's running on..

in a saved search it is really straightforward but in the analytics workbook it doesn't seem like it
