FWIW. I might have found a workaround.  Using the Accounting Period join....and selecting End Date as the Saved Search Filter, seems to be having the desired effect.

There is also this checkbox on the KPI scorecard (if you want to go scorecard route instead) when you're first creating it that you can use if you have a period filter in your saved search.

Only problem with that is you can only have one or the other.

That said - the end date as a saved search filter is smart. Can't believe I never thought of that before... I'll remember that one!
