Bah the one level up and one level down restriction is killing me on this saved search... I need to see items who are active, but their member items are inactive, or the member items of the member items are inactive.
a
can't join from the middle to the parent and down to the third level?
k
I can't wrap my mind around how to do it because there are many to one relationship
plus - I need like 6 levels, not just 1
a
right

I really really really want multijoins
how this isn't a thing yet is baffling to me
a
i've always assumed it was so they could gatekeep their database access a bit; enough multijoins in the wrong way on searches and you're just going to hammer the db servers w/ requests, no? but: they opened it up for suiteanalytics workbooks, so who knows now what the reason is. probably not worth augmenting saved searches if SA WBs are the future
k
I figure it was a limtation with the architecture of how they have it creating the SQL queries for you - i.e. they built it out, and then eventually realized that everything went to hell in a handbox
and so they started off SA WorkBooks with that goal in mind and thus avoided stepping in it again
they are just so damn clunky and I haven't had time to teach myself to use them
a
I've only used them a few times - definitely clunky and i wish they did more and could be useful in customizations, not just in reporting
