how can i add a column to my summary saved search that allows drilling down to see the un-grouped results?

I have 3 columns -- all are formulae: a date formula field and two currency formula fields, so none of these columns allow drilling down

this is a transaction saved search filtered to main line = true

i guess what i need is a non-formula based field that displays the same result for every row?

That seems to be the only way. Shame that saved searches cant drill down on formula results.

i wonder if a non-stored value free-form text field would work

I take it you're looking at more than 1 type of transaction in your search?

though that's not ideal because of my date formula field, would split up the results (esp this close to EOY)

Just tried it on a saved search i'm working on, and it works. But your limitation makes sense.
