@mescalante I don’t have experience with that particular use case but I would recommend this if you 100% need to do it because you need to get orders our the door: • Create a Dataset or run a SuiteQL query that would show you how many components do you need and which ones. • Perform an Inventory Adjustment with a memo stating why the inventory is being adjusted up. • Build your work orders.
Avoid doing anything that would generate negative Inventory; that would save you many headaches. Adjust UP; build.

Thanks a lot for sharing. I proposed something around those lines, but we are lot controlled and it is a bit tricky. I will look into this option again.
We will be implementing Routings and consumption at each operation step in the near future.

I will advise against that; if you don’t even know what you physically have you are like 3 steps behind implementing more complexity into the manufacturing process. You inventory operations must be fix first, and then you worry about controlling it with added complexity. Address the root of the problem first…

If you don’t have cycle counts, if your stakeholders or warehouse managers don’t even know what Inventory Classification Methodologies are (like ABC (real inventory classification methodology name by the way)); then don’t try to simply add more complexity into the system… it is not a problem you can solve at that level.
