We have a custom record type PN. On transaction, we have a custom transaction field of type List/Record -> PN. It is not mandatory. It is set as parent, so the transactions associated with a PN appear as a sublist on the PN record. The sublist includes a ‘remove’ column with links that disassociates the PN with the Transaction. We want to prevent this by hiding the column. If this were a custom field on a custom record (as opposed to a custom transaction field) we would simple untick the
ALLOW DELETE
checkbox on the field, however this checkbox doesn’t seem to exist on custom transaction fields. How do I hide the ‘remove’ column from this sublist?
m
Make a transaction saved search and use it as a Sublist on your custom record I like this approach better because you can control things like highlighting and the edit/view links as well Which you can't control with the native parent/child Sublist
Also I think if you make your custom field mandatory it will remove that remove link
But I assume you know that since you pointed out the field is not mandatory now
j
@battk because the child is transaction and not another custom record, your link doesn’t apply 😞
@MGBC I’d really rather not muck with the parent-child relationship setting, that’s kinda fundamental to this custom record type.
m
You don't need to change the parent child relationship here Just make a custom Sublist

you mean just hide the native one and show a different one?

Yes correct
j
I’ll give that a try, just wish there was a way to hide the Remove column on the native SL like there is on Custom->Custom
m
Yeah I agree it is annoying
I also hate that the only link in the native Sublist is edit and not view
s
sublist search is more safer - make sure to have the proper filter selected in the saved search
