has anyone ever encountered a journal reversal that has a different rate than its originating journal? Is this just a "how Netsuite used to work" thing? Original (1st October 2018. MYR in a SGD entity, exchange rate 0.33041). MYR 80,700.75 = SGD 26,664.33 Reversal (1st January 2019. MYR in a SGD entity, exchange rate 0.329801). MYR 80,700.75 = SGD 26,615.19 no edit button on the reversal

As far as I know reversing JE should have same FX rate (ref suite answer 7744) unless you have edited or changed the original JE
j
can't see anything changing the original JE in system notes. My instant reaction to the reporting user was "impossible" - but I'm looking right at it. Very strange!

Maybe you're thinking of consolidated exchange rates? Exchange rate on the transaction and consolidated exchange rates are different things.
j
nope, exchange rate on the transaction

it's a mystery - any currency reval done?
j
no - none of the accounts revalue - deferred rev and revenue
aha, I think it is this. When you voided, it would use the rate of the new transaction. We now have ticked the option to do reversal journals in Accounting options https://www.reddit.com/r/Netsuite/comments/1me563s/void_journal_entries/
