Hey all, anyone else using the StickyNotes bundle?...

Hey all, anyone else using the StickyNotes bundle?  I'm not sure yet when it started, but on the emails that come from sticky notes, there are links for view and edit record which no longer work.  They point to system.extforms.netsuite.com .  Anyone know how to resolve this in the stickynote email?  Thanks!
k
Did this happen after 2020.2? I believe the link no longer works because the bundle is looking at an old server that either got update or no longer works. So in theory the bundle is managed and they should fix it on their end....we also are having the same issue
j
i can confirm links are not working
a
Yes, happened with 2020.2. Was wondering if anyone had work around yet.
I just got it today, but i know some people have been on 2020.2 for a while
I tried to update the bundle, but it appears that I have the latest version
k
ya we have been on 2020.2 for a month and have not really looked for a workaround....was hoping the bundle would make the update but nothing yet
a
Weak. Hope they update soon. Maybe I'll hack my host file so at least it works for me =(

@AK47 What approach are you taking here? I haven't found a way to hook into the email body on outgoing messages from this yet, so we're looking at deploying a Chrome extension (we run Chrome only) to rewrite these links on the page in Gmail. I'd rather send the right link from the source.
k
the URL that gives you the error if you manually delete https://system.extforms.netsuite.com/ and add https://XXXXXXX.app.netsuite.com/ but for the XXXXXX add in your NS account # then it works...very clunky and manual but may work for some
a
hacking the host file didn't work for me. I forwarded system.extforms.netsuite.com to the same IP as XXXXX.app.netsuite.com hoping it would resolve, but it just brings a different error. Still thinking of alternatives...if I come up with something, I'll share
For now, I asked users to copy and paste the URL of the transaction that that they are on and paste it at the bottom of their note as this seems to be the best bad solution without trying to script something.
j
I’ve just asked people not to use them. I can’t stand them anyway (do they not take forever to load on everyone else’s systems?), so I almost hope that NetSuite is going to sunset them.
j
I thought of writing our own system for it but never had the time
Can we all please file a ticket, maybe they will prioritise this if enough people complain
Defect 599004 : StickyNotes Email > View/Edit Record hyperlink > Error: Host Not Resolvable
only U4 at the moment 😞
j
@jen thanks for sharing the defect #
j
Let’s all get attached to it and hope it gets bumped up the queue
c
FWIW just removing
extforms.
from the URL will resolve to the logged-in Netsuite domain. Also, we're currently solving this by using the Chrome extension approach I mentioned above by rewriting the link in Gmail in employee's browsers. Not ideal, but it gets the job done for now... We have an alternate solution rolling out, but people are still stuck to stickies!
j
Clay I haven’t written a Chrome extension before, is it pretty straightforward? We are all using Chrome too.
We would like to let you know that for Defect 599004 we received new target fix date which is: 10/28/2020. We apologize for the delay this may have caused.
k
Good news!
j
Google Extension worked for me too - first one I’ve ever made!
c
@jen As a belated answer, yes they're very straightforward. Since we're an all-Chrome house, we're getting a lot of benefit from them
k
@jen do you know have fixed this issue yet today?
j
oh shoot I haven’t tried, I think they released a fix
appears to be fixed
k
WOW!!!! Nice
