Hello, I’m trying to find the best native way in NetSuite to reserve inventory by sales channel at the item level, without creating transactional demand. Our use case is simple: we want to reserve a percentage of stock for a specific channel (for example 25% for “Private Sales”) while the inventory remains in the same warehouse/location. The goal is to protect part of the available inventory so other channels (e-commerce, marketplaces, etc.) cannot consume all the stock. From what I understand, the closest native approach might be Supply Allocation + Sales Channel Allocation with Order Reservations. My questions are: • Is this the correct native way to handle this use case? • Is there any native way to allocate inventory by percentage per channel, or does it require converting % to quantities via script or automation? Thank you.

Yes order reservations is the "best" native way out there to accomplish this. however, order reservations can be difficult to manage as once you start adding order reservations for a channel then you can't really stop. All orders for that channel will only pull from reservations. youcan't switch between using "general stock" and reserved stock easily. Just need to put in more reservations. The other option i've seen is people will setup sub-locations under their main warehouse location and then use a script to automate inventory transfers between sub locations. So you would have Warehouse A Warehouse A : Ecommerce Warehouse A: Retail Warehouse A : Other And so on
Then you would make suer that your orders are placed in the correct warehoues
