Has anyone had success connection Claude to a Sandbox account? I am trying to use Claude native connector settings. I select NetSuite and our production account pops up to select a role. I neglect using that and change the URL to have "-sb2" for the account name. I can then select the role I want to log into, but Claude gives an error.
Error connecting to the MCP server. Please confirm that you have permission to access the service, that you're using the correct credentials, and that your server handles auth correctly. (invalid_grant)
When asking Claude it suggest that it can't connect directly to Sandbox first, but first connect it to Production, and then edit the connection within Claude to point to SB or something.

Hey @Noel B I have
It’s possible
Happy to connect and help if I can

I would welcome the help. I have the SuiteApp MCP installed, the role has OAuth 2.0 Authorized Applications Management and MCP Server Connection permissions, and we have and I have enabled OAuth 2.0 on the account level.

@Noel B free to huddle for a minute to screenshare?
n
I can do that in about 15 minutes. On a call.

cool

Hi! May I ask how did you resolve this problem? We have the same situation as well
n
I haven't been able to yet. Ryan suggested that I needed to do a custom connection, or remove the current setup of the NetSuite default connection. Today I am attempting the removal and adding back in of the NetSuite default connection. We were able to get it removed and re-add it in as the sandbox URL, but still got the same error. I had not disabled the original integration in NetSuite for Claude prior to that. So I have now disabled it and asking IT to reset the NetSuite default connection one more time to see if that was the issue.
If that doesn't work I am just going to have them create a custom connection and see if that works.

Thanks! My experience is sandbox doesn’t work well with the MCP, the production account might work
n
That isn't good. I know we only want to do read only first, but if we get to a stage of creating records Sandbox will need to be tested. I want to test read only in Sandbox as well with the different roles.

I've connected a few sandboxes. Happy to help again if needed

@Ryan Longenecker and @daoqi I got it connected. I reviewed my permissions on the role and I was not using "Log in using OAuth 2.0 Access Tokens". I had selected "OAuth 2.0 Authorized Applications Management". A failure on my part from not following directions.

Nice!

Congrats! We have this “Log in using OAuth 2.0 Access Tokens” permission but still getting “Error connecting to the MCP server. Please confirm that you have permission to access the service, that you’re using the correct credentials, and that your server handles auth correctly”. If I keep connecting, it will show “Error connecting to the MCP server. Please confirm that you have permission to access the service, that you’re using the correct credentials, and that your server handles auth correctly. (McpServerError: Connected successfully but the integration may not be available right now due to a temporary error.)”

And you have the "MCP Server Connection" connection?
d
Yes we have that as well
n
And then what URL are you giving claude for the MCP server?
d
n
This is with the SuiteApp MCP Standard Tools installed.
