Anyone got their certifications training/test email this year?
j
Didn't they transition to the new Oracle Learning platform thing? There was a brief period at the end of last year where they gave out like 2 free exams or something to make up for basically wiping everyone's certifications. I also missed that window though.
j
I reached out in January. According to Paul... "Thank you for reaching out to us. As part of the recent relaunch of our certification program, we are currently reviewing the recertification process. We will share updates and next steps with learners once more information is available. Rest assured, we will keep you informed as soon as we have further details."
It doesn't inspire confidence.

Wait what? are they going to wipe out certifications from people that own those for years and years?
j
They can't wipe them out. I have better lawyers than Oracle.
j
I mean I may eventually re-take some of them in the new platform, but my plan for the immediate future was just to continue listing them on my resume with an asterisk or something, and if an employer truly needs an oracle learning platform cert, then I'm happy to pass any test they want on their time at their expense as a condition of employment.
j
I find it amazing that they have a mailing list of loyal, certified professionals and just dropped the ball on communication. Or designed the lack of communication as a money grab. You decide.
j
I mean definitely could be a money grab, but whenever humans are involved I'd almost always bet on laziness. They probably didn't want to go through the hassle of having to do some sort of migration where they might have to actually contact people and do more work.
j
They did do a migration to the Oracle learning cloud and my last name is now 55318.

They should have hired us.
j
Didn't you hear, they have AI now, so they don't need us. šŸ˜‚

The more and more I use AI the more it reinforces what I previously believed: • AI is great as a productivity tool but it matter A LOT who is at the diver seat.

Yep, have seen way too many examples of SaaS vendors we're working with just completely falling on their face when they try to do big overhauls to include AI. 'Tis not a magic wand.
j
I think AI developed CertView for Oracle. It doesn't work without cookies.
I'm surprised the Europeans put up with that shit.

Glad I'm not alone at least in feeling lost or like my certificate expired. Has anyone checked their own against their online portal thing to see if it's listed as expired? I don't have mine handy at work to check.

I reached out to NS re: re-certification last December. I got the similar message on "we will let you know how to re-certify once we figure it out". But I did confirm that a) our old certifications will not expire and b) all of what we have is valid through Dec 26. Before I confirmed about the old certifications there was a panic in my group about out certs going poooof. So I took the Admin test (again). Did you know the passing rate now is 55%?????? Seriously? you just need to know half??? there will be many (and some already are) certified persons that just good at testing...

Make sure you take a screenshot of your current certifications with number IDs assigned to them and the dates your certifications were earned. Ensure the URL link shows in the screenshot. Save it someplace safe. This will be your proof if your certifications get wiped out and you need to file a lawsuit. https://nlcorp.extforms.netsuite.com/app/site/hosting/scriptlet.nl?script=1142&deploy=1&com[…]at=AAEJ7tMQhqGtwO7FFVk8xSQdfS6EzNeo_arggzRRBJ6NdQ_Jb4k
