has anyone used Odoo ERP before?

(I know this is not what you are looking for - ignore it if you like) I created an account a few weeks ago, and took a look at it.. (I don't understand the hype at all, it feels it is nothing compared to NetSuite, and definitely if you compared it with EBS or Fusion)... and then I regretted creating the account because sales people from different countries kept sending emails and messages on WhatsApp, until I blocked all of them.

LOL persistent sales team - i am working with a small company wanting to use it for daily finance operations. they have a developer option so i was wondering about that portion.

I have used the precursor of Odoo TinyERP a long long time ago in 2007. Recently I was looking into it due to all the hype. It is a great platform with so many features at an amazing price point for SMB and less restrictive. Going through its partners process which is costing around 8k.

What do you think of it compared to NetSuite and EBS?

by less restrictive are you referring how the base code is open source?

@Sam-I-Am Have you ever used Apache OFBiz?

Long long ago in 2005, quite stable, now they have integrated Freemarker into it. As far as I remember the learning curve is quite steep

@Sam-I-Am Thank you very much for your response; it is much appreciated. My friend is looking for an ERP solution for his rapidly growing small company. I have recommended Apache OFBiz to him, as I believe it is a mature and stable project.

Also you can try Dolibar, which is excellent and easy to set up. It is favored by the French Government for SMB. Great UI, reporting and add-ons. Many hosting companies have easy installation options through some web control panels.
