point taken @suitemike. No debate that it's helpful. Just seems odd to build a new feature based on that assumption if it's not globally mandatory to use prefixes in document numbers.... I briefly considered a case but it would just end up as an enhancement. I'll just leave it unchecked - none of my users have ever complained about this.
