Yeah, it's possible. I did notice that, of the three developer sandboxes they provide per full sandbox, 1 is leading (gets upgraded early) and 2 are trailing (gets upgraded later). They should really have one that gets upgraded at the same time. 2 trailing sandboxes are kind of overkill.
