is the Addition To Head field available to add anything to the head? I'm trying to add a twitter tracking pixel and just wondering if I can it there instead of the ssp file

the best option here is to add the tracking using GTM

I second Martin's comment. Google Tag Manager is the right approach for all things tracking.
Be careful and read the documentation thoughtfully before implementing with GTM, but yes, that's the right approach.
