I was excited to see i could get more info in system notes by unchecking the LOG SYSTEM NOTES ON UPDATE ONLY field, but uhhhhh... Yeah, that last line's got me scratching my head.
c
More info? it seems like you get less info if you unchecked since it would be update only. Seems like they want to leave it checked so you aren't missing create logs. I haven't messed with this specific one. Seems a bit odd.
c
It's mainly for line level system notes as far as i can tell. With this checked, logs aren't created when a line is added. So you can see if a line was changed, but you can't tell if it was replaced with a new one instead. According to the docs, unchecking this will also log the details on creation for the line.

I need to capture when an item is added to an order so the contract can be updated, this looks like a good way to do that. What're the side effects of this setting?
a
@Craig I think you could setup the SO to need to be approved for a change, which would do the same thing I think?
c
I don't think that makes anything easier really. I'd still need to do the same search to compare all line items to contract items on the contract.
a
you could set it up as a reminder for the role and it would just show a list of effected SOs
c
The context would only ever be one sales order. The challenge is knowing what changed in what line and if it relates to a contract item.

Which extension adds these changes? crosses fingers it's available for FireFox

I don't believe it saves once you refresh. It's either NetSuite Field Explorer or NetSuite Advanced Field Help. These are the extensions I have on Brave browser (same as chrome but I don't like chrome) NetSuite Utils and Netsuite Field Finder are my must haves
