What games do you guys play in your down time?

Ark

Have you played palworld? My friend described it as Ark, but better/what it was meant to be.

I've heard of it but haven't played it. IMHO Ark is the best of the genre by far - and the only reason people tolerate the unstable servers and client crashes 🙂

That sounds about right. I've only played the latter. My mates biggest complaint is in palworld at least the building is "fun" as he describes it.

What I loved about Ark is the totally open world, no scripted anything, all in high-def. Folks can play Ark for years and never complete the actual storyline, and that's ok, especially since the bosses require insane effort to defeat if starting from scratch.

gw2 is my main multiplayer game, started a second playthrough of witcher 3 with mods, and thinking of another modded bg3 coop campaign over the winter

Guess I'm going to have to give ark a try. Good thing there's a steam sale around the corner. How it the witcher 3? It feels daunting every time I want to get into it given how vast the world is. As for me I'm currently working through final fantasy 16. So far it has been a fun ride... when my pc doesn't start dropping frames.

Witcher 3 is probably one of my top games I've ever played story wise. The 2 expansions are amazing IMO. Blood & Wine is reaaaalllllllyyyyyy good. I think I put about 150ish hours into it so the content is definitely there. FF16 was good too. I don't think the expansions are worth it really unless they are bundled with whatever you buy but the game was really good. It's slow to pick up I thought but the last 25-50% of it was where it really got going and I couldn't put it down.

I played witcher 3 on console first 5+ years ago and also put in like 120ish hours without doing 100% of the content. It can be daunting, but if you just take it slow and immerse yourself it's really quite fun. A lot of it is like being a medieval detective tracking clues and hints to figure out what kind of enemy you're even dealing with. Great story too, some side quests have better writing than entire other games

1000% on the side quests. That's why I liked the expansions as they are more immersive/engaging than the original. Typically you just get some half-assed DLC but for witcher 3 its like 2 more games. There's a random quest where you run across a pig and it turns into this big detective thing and a curse that takes like an hour or 2.

Oh, man, games... I have been playing a lot of games with life lately. Last time I spent some time playing was with Max Payne, Red Alert 2, Commandos 3, Medal of Honor, Need for Speed - Most Wanted. (yeah, I am a little bit old on that, I know) Now I may play LIMBO sometimes, but just to unplug.

witcher 3 was so epic, some of the side quests are better than the main quests in other games

I'm a bit of a gaming butterfly flitting from one to another but... CoD: Black Ops 7. Pax Dei Dune Awakening Lumines Arise CloverPit Monsters are Coming! Rock & Road Ball x Pit Depends what time I have and my mood. Xbox GamePass doesn't help, too many shiny things! 🙂

Late to the party but, mostly programming and puzzle games 😅 Autonauts Anything/everything Zachtronics or Zach-like Factorio I really want to have time to play "The Farmer Was Replaced" (more programming)
