so someone had told me one time if I deleted a Assembly build for a WO it was like it never happened and the components go back to where they came from. Is this true? I'm working with WIP and Routing now and deleted a Work Order Completion and the associated WO because it was a special WO for 120pc on a 48pc order and for the life of me I couldn't allocate any pieces anywhere. Below is the mess I'm looking at trying to clean up
b
Was the completion with backflush? I think the step you missed might have been deleting the work order issue but I'm surprised that the work order would let you delete it without doing that first
a
Bryan I'm not going to lie bud, I'm making myself sick trying to figure this out. I did an inventory adjustment at zero cost to get the negative out but that top Lot with 120 doesn't have a WO attached to it at all which is nuts
and yes completion was with backflush
b
I would guess that something consumed the 120 in bin S8 before you deleted the work order completion - either a TO or and IF. Orrrrrr a bin transfer to k25
if you look in the related records for this item you should see the trail of what happened
a
this is what I have left for the lot that is an issue
we only do IT no TO
b
Same thing though. so order of events was 1. work order completion (+120)
2. IT ( move 120)
3. Delete WOC (-120 in original bin)
4. IT receiving bin stayed at 120
I would delete the IA and the IT
a
will that lot vanish then?
b
Yes
it should
a
I guess why not at this point
b
haha, worst case take screen shot of the IT so you can recreate
a
I have the completed WOC I need to re-enter so after deletion I should make another WO and use the old WOC to clean up
b
deleting the IA and IT should take you back before the work order completion - whatever you need to do after that is whatever yyou need to do
a
also am I just sucking up component inventory while doing these?
b
I'm not sure. if the 120 is a component to be consumed later then yes? maybe?
a
120 is a finished assembly of a BOM
so has like 4 components in it
b
I see what you are saying
right now no the components should be back in inventory
a
ok I'll run through the motions real quick and see what happens
ok no more of that LOT so I'll re-create a WO and make the assembly again. I have plugged AI into my sandbox account and it was telling me all kinds of things with components on WIP and Routings where you use backflush. Hopefully all lies
never said thanks! I appreciate you
b
No problem, I'm an expert in how to un - f inventory problems haha
a
my life is F'd inventory at the moment
