Hey I connected NetSuite MCP to Claude and trying to ask it natural questions however I seems to get replies as if I’m querying data, for instance when O asked it to get me 2025 invoices if specific customer it searched for the customers internal ID when I provided a name, or when I asked it to provide invoice balance it also provided the tax line which is not relevant for the user, what am I missing here? Is someone used it and got decent replies?

Hey @Shiri Zohar I have asked it natural language questions and have seen great replies. What prompts are you using?

For instance provide me 2025 invoices for Shiritest customer (it’s a test env.) It resulted with query where he placed “shiritest” in the internal id filed and got in a loop, Than I asked it why he did it and he fixed the query but asked me to provide the customer internal ID…
I use Claude as the LLM if it matters
Thanks

Hey @Shiri Zohar that’s pretty odd but might need a more extensive prompt. Maybe try “I would like all 2025 invoice transactions related to the customer named “Shiritest customer”. There should only be one specific customer with this customer/company name. Please ask me any questions you need to provide this information if needed”
I use Claude as well. The prompt is the most important part and the better the prompt the better the results.
Here’s a long but good structure of a prompt. The more of these you add in the better:
1. Task (action + goal) 2. Context (background, constraints) 3. Exemplars (models or templates) 4. Persona (role or voice) 5. Format (structure, layout) 6. Tone (style, vibe) 7. Constraints / Requirements (length, citations, etc.) 8. Evaluation Criteria / Rubric (clarity, accuracy, creativity) 9. Process / Steps (outline → draft → refine) 10. Safety / Verification (fact-checking, uncertainty flags) 11. Interactivity / Refinement Loop (AI asks clarifying questions, revises)
