Hi everyone, we provide services to our customers ...

Hi everyone, we provide services to our customers and we use fulfillments to track how much of the service we've "provided", then each week we create an Invoice for what has been fulfilled so far. We have "allow invoice before fulfillment" turned off, so that the invoice is only generated for exactly what was fulfilled so far. However, we have 1 customer that we invoice a custom quantity, not related to what was fufilled and so sometime that amount goes over what was fulfilled so far. Has anyone tried to generate an invoice from a sales order via SuiteScript where the invoice quantity is greater than fulfilled quantity, even what the "allow invoice before fulfillmetn" setting was disabled? Does NetSuite allow this or will we get an error? TIA

You can maybe use another item for that customer. A service item with "can be received/fulfilled" = false.

Yeah... unfortunately we still want to track fulfilled qty vs billed qty to see where we are off...but just for this one customer we want to allow the invoice to be generated based on some factors from the customer vs. what we've said was fulfilled in Netsuite
but thanks @mesper that is a good idea
maybe ill have to come up with some sort of custom invoicing process

Stand alone invoices, have you considered that?
Or, if you manually create invoices, invoice from sales order and add an extra item line on the invoice
