Wondering if anyone might have some general feedback on the NetSuite Developer/Administrator job market in Canada specifically Ontario. Being a NetSuite customer and not being in the bigger cities like Toronto or Ottawa curious what others might know about NetSuite growing or declining. Job sites can paint some of the picture but curious if anyone in the community might be interested in sharing their thoughts.

I'm a dev based in Peterborough and my clients are US based. I've worked for a partner for a few years and recently I am having to start to fill my days with work that I find on my own. On linkedin I'm getting approached by recruiters for both Canada and the US. I wouldn't know if the market for NS is growing or declining, but there is one out there. It's hard to say if the jobs on jobs sites get snatched up quick or if companies go straight to recruiters. Not sure.

Thanks for the reply. It's interesting on one side of it (Partner) work is declining but you're still able to find other work. Is that other work NetSuite work?

The one partner I worked for sold their business to another and they have internal people, so the work goes there first. I've been doing solidworks pdm dev work for years and there is always work for that. I'd rather be doing NS dev though

That's great info thanks for sharing.

NetSuite jobs are there in the market. I usually follow the market trend in Canada. Usually 2-4 NetSuite Admin/ Developer jobs gets posted an average per month on job websites like LinkedIn and indeed by NetSuite End users. Jobs with (mid to senior) experience are usually located in Toronto and Junior to Senior level experience are located in Montreal. Vancouver also has NS job market. I usually get the calls from recruiters. NetSuite skills are hard to find in cities like Ottawa, Halifax and Calgary and some companies are willing to pay more than what you get in Toronto. Recruitment agencies and Partners are also post job openings most of the time. I will say NS has good job market in Canada and it will grow in near future.

Thanks for your feedback @rajneesh kumar. Are companies becoming more open to remote work with some travel to accomodate those markets like Ottawa, Halifax, Calgary
r
@JohnnyC It really depends. I think these companies usually rely on partners or on NS consultants to fill this gap till the point they realize that it is cost effective to hire in house with the option to work remotely and fly in occasionally for team meetings.

Thanks appreciate all the info provided.

I can't speak for Canada, but I am seeing a lot of hiring activity across the spectrum here in the States from End Users to Partners. Saw my first TV ad for NetSuite at the gym the other day.
