If you just put "I am a NetSuite Developer looking for a job" in LinkedIn you'll get your inbox flooded in a few hours

And that's only if they are out to lunch when you save it... 😛
k
Heck, I get that as a consultant who's not looking.
c
yeah I get TONS of them every day even though the 1st line in my linkedin profile says "Please do not recruiter spam me"
its always crappy contractor jobs though paying very poorly
k
Profile doesn't list any of my accomplishments : message from recruiter : "I'm so impressed with your accomplishments"
m
totally. you could say: ‘i used to be a NS developer and i never want to do it again’ and still get overwhelmed with shitty contractor jobs.
c
I always respond with 500k/yr

one day... one day someone is going to say OK i have a feeling
m
ha ha ha… this is an exceptionally good strategy, i’ll try it.
c
its just as stupid as getting spammed constantly so i have no issues with it
k
Hah. Maybe I'll do that. - though I'm probably not as valuable because I'm not a developer, so let's go with 300k/yr.
c
hey get what you can get lol
b
I've gotten a lot of these messages but like you said its typically crappy contractor gigs. Sadly nothing permanent in my area and everything else seems to want me to do 3 jobs for 1 salary.
k
Depending on what you're wanting to do - if implementations can be your thing virtually every NS partner is attempting to hire right now.
Ok - slight exaggeration, but yeah a lot of them are hiring.
b
Not big on implementations. I haven't done even 1, just post-implementation customization and optimization for a few years.
c
If you're just looking for dev linkedin is where its at from what i've seen

All the calls/messages from recruiters regarding contract work have me wondering about it...I have steady work at a firm right now, but I'm curious if anyone out there strictly does contract work that these guys headhunt for...and if there's enough work to keep you going...Curious as to what that experience is like vs being at a firm.
c
(my opinion) From a dev standpoint, the $$ is super low at most of these contract places and isn't worth the time as its W2.

k
From what I've seen, I'd rather have my support network around me than working making a shade more per hour (effectively) taking contract work where they'll bone my tax sutuation all up.

yeah i'd much rather work for a partner (which is what i've been doing)
