Curious if anyone has made the move from being an employee to a Netsuite consultant/contractor. Not confident in my companies long term commitment to NetSuite and would hate to just throw away all this NetSuite knowledge I've gained. Would love to here any thoughts people may have on being a NetSuite consultant or contractor.

I made the switch from Admin to Consultant nearly 2 years ago, would be happy to answer any questions you have

No regrets happy with the decision?
How difficult have you found getting clients/jobs etc

Are you asking about becoming an independent consultant? Or going to work for a partner?

@erictgrubaugh not sure yet, again it's thinking for my future. Current company's use of NetSuite going forward is very un-certain. Love learning new things but even with it's issues I like Netsuite and have gained a lot of knowledge and experience over the last six years, and rather than throw it on the resume and never see it again I thought to myself maybe there's opportunity. So to your question right now I'd look at both.

I have done full circle - started working on NS as an employee(client) then 5-6 years as consultant working for NS partners then again to Admin after that till current. Only reason I left consulting was traveling and uncertainty, since most of the consultants tends to move around a lot. One thing I do miss about consulting is the learning experience I gained from one project to other - they all are different. my 2 cents worth
