a. This is a major offender for incorrect reporting in our NetSuite instance. We have 1,000,000+ assembly items which are created from 10,000s of inventory items. For about a year we’ve even been creating Assembly Items built from Assembly Items. From the inception of our instance there was no consistency around the costing methodologies with items. This effort needs to be addressed from the very foundation. Hopefully you have strong experience in both Average and Standard accounting in NetSuite and can make the case either way for which we should choose.
b. We are CONSTANTLY creating new items and stocking them in new Inventory Locations. This leads to all sorts of headaches with Inventory Revaluation errors in NetSuite.
c. The goal here is to end up with profitability reports that we can trust.
