Hi NetSuite experts! Ever experienced that after transferring a serial number via Inventory Transfer, the quantity available becomes 0? There is no SO involved so the item has not been committed. How to correct and make the item available for the location? Appreciate the help
s
Is inventory adjustment approved. Just make sure there was no negative inventory before on that location.
s
@sam1128 Not inventory adjusted but an inventory transfer was made. Yes its approved and there is no negative inventory on the location prior to the Inventory transfer. Here's what happened: Example: serial num of item 1 is transferred from Loc A to Loc B on Feb. Serial num of item 1 is transferred back from Loc B to Loc A on March. Now the serial num of item 1 in Loc A is Quantity on hand = 1, quantity available = 0
m
You are probably looking at the wrong location; inventory transfer deducts the quantity in the "FROM" location, and adds the corresponding quantity in the "TO" location.
s
@Mars the location i am looking at is correct. On my example above, the item has been transferred back from Loc B to Loc A. I am now looking at Loc A and now the item is unavailable
s
Quantity on hand showing 1 means that it is at the right location but committed to some other transaction because available is zero.
m
Are you sure it’s not a transfer order? Transfer orders need to be delivered and received in the affected locations. Items delivered but not yet received will not be counted as on hand in either locations.
s
Nope. Not transfer order. Inventory Transfer was used to transfer from Loc A to Loc B and Loc B to Loc A.
p
If you are using bins in the location, could they need a bin put away doing?
s
Hi @Paul_s no, we are not using bins. Just Serial numbers
p
how odd, is there any scope for it being committed to something other than a sales order? adding the quantity committed column to the items related records is always a good shout
m
Check all related records. There might be another transaction that caused it, maybe almost simultaneously created.
s
Agree. I cant see any sales or returns transaction seems like because serial is "stuck" because of continuous transfers between locations
