hi all. I had a user accidentally overwrite an existing saved search (instead of save as, they just saved). I'd like to recover the original, but i don't know of a way to do that. What safeguards can an admins take to be able to restore a saved search in this type of scenario?

You cant really protect someone from modifying their own search

I make it a point to use the “export search as script “ chrome brower extension and save it to a file later to be able to recreate the search for these types of situations.

@Eric B that's an interesting idea! I wish there was something that could easily make copies of all my searches. I might use that for important ones. thx

There is some logging in the Saved Search history that might get you some of the way.

For specific important saved searches I'm using excel workbook and upload it to Netsuite file cabinet private folder

If you use SDF, you can extract a reference that should allow you to recreate the search if it was ever changed.
