Hi, I would like to build a saved search or report to show when we open/close periods in Netsuite; the person who does it, when they do it and the reason entered. One other note, when we re-open a closed period there is an option to add a reason, can we make sure that this note is required. Also when we close a period, there isnt a note field to enter why we are closing…is there a possibility to add one….just so we can note if we are closing as part of normal procedures or if we are reclosing a closed period… Any inputs are greately appreicated on this. @NS User My understanding is that the justification text field is always mandatory for reopening a period. It certainly is in my account. If it's not in yours I'd contact NS Support about that. The justification is saved as a user note and can be pulled into a saved search from the 'User Note Fields...' join when searching the Accounting Period record. I don't believe you can edit fields or anything else about the period close process. I have seen other companies create a custom record that they fill out and complete alongside the normal close process for custom close procedures that they need to track.
