Has anyone been successful is getting the "project template" field on the Project to be required? I cannot do it on the form or in suiteflow. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

I would expect it would need to be a client script

We have it as a beforeLoad UE right now and trying to get it to work as a Client side script to automatically set the value so people dont mess it up.
