I have a case where we’re trying to update time entries in a closed period. There is only one update we’re looking to make - an update to a custom field (checkbox) to TRUE. The administrator role can do this no problem via in-line editing in a saved search, however another custom role cannot. The only way I’ve been able to get it to work in the other role is by checking the Core Administration Permissions checkbox. All the periods have the allow non-gl checkbox set to TRUE and I’ve tried adding both the allow non-gl changes and override period restrictions permission to the roles. Neither of them have worked. Does this seem abnormal to anyone else?

What does the checkbox do? you might have to solve that another way.
(for example a custom record joined to the time entry)

The checkbox indicates whether the time is ready to invoice. The field is called “Ready to Invoice”

Bummer. I'm guessing that has to be on the record, and can't be something that's joined elsewhere.

Right, I don’t think they’d be receptive to a custom record. Maybe a script can be written to bypass the period lock depending on the role 🤔

I mean, you could use a custom record -a nd then script an update to the actual record
