Has anyone used the
Copy To Account
Feature? General thoughts and feedback?
r
Yes. It works sometimes.
j
bummer, same here. It worked for me last week. I went back today and kept getting the same error.
j
now that's a ringing endorsement! lol
a
I don't think I've ever managed to get it to work.
n
What are you trying to move?
I've had some success with it, but it seems to have less feedback than the SDF tools it's based off of
j
I was trying to move a Form View. I know form views don't travel well to begin with.
n
Ooof. Yeah, forms do not do well with SDF, I've taken to just using bundles for forms, even in development workflows.
(my personal opinion anyway)
j
I just bundled a Form and none of the preferences or field layouts came through. @Nicholas Klug, can you think of anything I did wrong?
n
I'm talking from a pure "did things get brought over" standpoint. I've never seen a clean transfer of forms in any methodology. It seems that no matter how many things I've tried or consultants I've worked with, form migrations require a manual validation process afterwards 😞
j
Ok, I'll definitely keep that in mind! We are changing some things around in our development process. If I'm able to refresh our sandbox more often, I won't have to worry about this as often. Thanks again!
p
It hates recursive dependencies & can't always detect them, so you end up with an internal error instead. I wish it worked
j
Yeah @PNJ, I was able to move a few fields without any trouble last night. It's definitely not working when I try something a little more complex.
