He cant reach the page to select a different view, the page is under Projects....so now, he cant even access the Projects page

@Synx The view is saved as a saved search somewhere. You need to find the saved search (should be the same name as the view) then changed the sort drop down to be one of the fields that has a summary type on it.

As an aside, if you do get stuck with a view that's bugged out, send the user a link to the page with a different/the default view selected (view selection must be in URL)
