Has anyone even set up advanced rev rec for a part of the environment only? More specificaly we want to activate advanced rev rec but this should have minimal impact on the current business -including existing items, currently used transaction forms. Upon activation: • we will tag all items that should not use advanced rev rec with "direct revenue posting" • what happens to existing transaction forms? Can those continue to be used in conjunction with new forms? • What are other things to consider in order to avoid disturbing existing users?

ARM affects the whole environment so I would test this extensively. You may already know this, but you can't have Direct Posting items and non-Direct Posting items on the same order, so if you need that functionality, that will be an issue. You'd probably need to let the direct posting items go through to the arrangement and then set them to post immediately. You should be able to use existing transaction forms although a handful of fields associated with legacy Rev Rec will disappear. You'll also need to do a little config on the new Rev Arrangements form. Reporting would be the other thing I'd worry about. ARM changes some of the reporting and it does it for the whole system so I'd have the business users validate they still have the reports they need and the reports are showing what's necessary.
