Has anyone made the switch to Advanced BOMS? I am a bit nervous to make the switch any wondering if anyone has successfully changed to ABOM and if they are happy with it?

Yes kevin my company did it recently, after testing it in Sandbox for two months, they seem to be happy with it.

do you know what some of the big benefits are? We could potential do this because we have a few assembly items that potentially could have different BOMS depending on inventory. It just seems like a heavy lift to convert over to ABOM and have to re do all the saved searches, make new routings and revisions

Biggest benefit I saw is revision control plus if you ever want to use outsourced manufacturing feature then ABOM is the only option. With this you get separated record for Bill of Materials it gets attached to the item record but you don’t see the components on the item itself

do you guys have multiple revisions active for one item? Or you just make a new revision if one is outdated

New one if it’s outdated but we might have multiple in future

That is what we want to do. have tow "active" BOMS for one item but it does not seem like you can overlap them

Yes you end one and start one but that’s for legacy I think you can overlap with advanced need to confirm though

ya that is the part I am currently trying to figure out in the sandbox
