what might be the best way to remove updating the prices on an item? have a few hundred items. is it possible via an import?

What do you mean by "to remove updating the prices on an item"? You mean manually and individually?

If yes, you can play around with the Update Prices Mass Update functionality by going to Lists&gt;Mass Update&gt;Update Prices.

meaning, we dont want anyone to update the pricing on an item &gt; sales/pricing

Lists&gt;Mass Update&gt;Update Prices - doesn't give me any ability to remove permission from users/user roles. Trying to see if there is a read only permission on the pricing but not seeing anything

Oh sorry, I misunderstood your Q. Anw, have you tried the Quantity Pricing Schedule permission under List of the Role record? If that doesn't work too, I'm thinking of creating a workflow (Set Field Display Type to Inline/Disabled for certain roles or users)  but I'm not sure though if you impose it directly on the QPS columns (but for other fields, definitely) in the item record (unless you do not use QPS in the first place).

thanks for the suggestions. Updating the QPS to view only still allowed edits. maybe I could try setting item record to be create only and not edit
