Here is what I came up with... It is not possible to change which transaction types are included in statements. There are ways to customize the appearance and functionality of statements in NetSuite, but filtering by transaction type is not one of them. It is possible to change which show up in an Advanced PDF statement template, but we are currently using a basic template. If the request is to change the PDF that is sent to customers, we can create an Advanced PDF template for this purpose.
