Hi everyone! We're looking to restrict Purchase Orders for a certain role so they'll only have access to theirs and their subordinates. We attempted to use the Employee Restrictions field but noticed it was too restrictive. I created a workflow that achieve this but this doesn't work with lists and thought there may be a native way. What are some options we could explore to help us restrict access to POs?

The employee center role natively restricts in this way

Employee Restrictions tends to be too rigid. A cleaner way is to use role permissions for PO access and pair that with a saved search as the main list view. That way, users only see their own and their subordinates’ POs without hitting the “all or nothing” problem.

@christianRILECPQ how do you restrict them to not use another saved search?
m
You can use the Audience tab of the saved searches to restrict access to each saved search. Remove that employee or role they use from the Audience tab and they won't be able to see the saved search
m
Yes, but isn't there a better way? One client has approx 600 users with several consultants and users that need to be able to create searches, it's a pretty risky solution.

So there are 3 concerns? 1. View and create purchase orders for them or their subordinates 2. Limit searches so they cannot view different searches OR limit the results of the search so they cannot see results that don’t pertain to them 3. Do not allow them to make their own searches?
