While entering a NetSuite budget for a subsidiary with a base currency of AUD, I noticed that the currency displayed on the Budget record is USD. What’s unclear is why, when I enter a budget amount of 250 for a given period, the record shows USD even though the subsidiary is in AUD. However, when I post a journal entry for that same subsidiary and period—entered in *AUD*—the Budget vs. Actual report appears to correctly compare the figures in AUD. This suggests that, despite the USD label on the Budget record, the actual reporting may still be functioning in the subsidiary’s base currency. What am I misinterpreting, if anything?

Budget records show in the parent company currency by default. However, NetSuite converts them to subsidiary currency for reporting. The USD label can be confusing. Your AUD amounts are stored and compared correctly in the Budget vs. Actual reports. If this becomes an issue, check your consolidation settings. The reporting function you see is working as intended.
