#C298P0BCK #C29AD7E6T Is there any desire to monitor and eventually block users who just put our questions into ChatGPT then paste the answers back in here, that provide no real help or guidance? Some users are just spamming everything with obvious AI responses.

Didn't notice 🤔 Some of my questions are simply ignored, even in the general channel

@MGBC I don't think this cross-posted to #C29AD7E6T if that was your intention. But to your actual point, yes, I definitely have noticed an uptick in this as well and would very much like to see some folks put on notice or booted entirely. All that spam that was hitting the website in the past few months was IMHO a sign that our community is large enough now that it needs some clear community guidelines and more active moderation. To be honest, it's a real credit to this community that it has lasted so long without devolving into people just selling stuff as other spaces like LinkedIn and such have. I think a general community policy on spam would be an excellent idea. I know moderating can be a real challenge/time suck though, so if something like that does happen, I imagine the admins would need some help with this. I'd be happy to volunteer though, and I imagine a few others would as well if something like that got going.

I'm sure we can find plenty of trusted individuals to admin.

Yeah I'm happy to volunteer as well. I just didn't know if something like that was already in place. I thought that @erictgrubaugh knew the Admin for this slack but I'm not sure

I thought it was just @kyle

I used to have some help. I frankly don’t have the time anymore even myself. Keeping the spam off the site has been my priority.
Admin controls in slack are basically non-existent as well. Especially on free version.
m
Oh sorry @kyle I wasn't trying to pick on you. I love this slack. I just didn't know how things worked. I'm happy to help out with anything i can if you need a hand
Yeah I agree
I'm sure we can put together some people to "self_monitor"
or whatever you think is best
k
I have thought a lot about it. I can’t be as active as I once was. Perhaps someone else is better to take the community over. I’ve considered selling it, leasing it, or finding someone to take it over. Just not sure what’s best. Want the best for the community and I find my self struggling to keep up given other demands on my time.

We all love this community. If there is anything we can all do to help this community to thrive please let us know.
m
Yes I agree. Do you want to discuss how we can help you out? happy to setup a call to discuss
k
I would prefer the community self-police on things like this. And if the user refuses to stop let me know and I can kick them. I can't prevent them from signing up with another email though.

Sounds good
