Anyone using AMD Ryzen processor? How is it?
c
I've been running a 9800x3d since release. Been great so far.

Should I go for Ryzen laptop?
n
I've been using Ryzen for several years, in fact all 4 desktops in my home use Ryzen, never an issue. It's not like they are some kind of half baked compromise. πŸ™‚ It's like most things, do your research not all Ryzen are equal and the same applies to Intel. Typically "high end" for gaming is x3D, just "x" for mixed gaming / productivity and no "x" on the end for general day to day. (this is a generalisation but think most would agree commonly accepted).
Oh yeah... laptops: HX, HS, U: These suffixes denote different power and thermal profiles. HX processors are designed for high performance, HS for thin and light laptops with good performance, and U for ultra-low power consumption.

Thanks @NElliott . I will review but wanted to make sure it's not something I regret buying later πŸ˜‚

Thanks @virtualEncoreTremor @creece
I am planning to upgrade my laptop. Currently using Dell with 11th Gen i7. I was considering to buy Lenovo and they have Ryzen variant as well.

Got a 9800x3D on my new build (first in 6 years) and it's screaming.

I was going to go with AMD until I found a great deal on an i9
n
i9 is an overkill for NetSuite work. I don't plan on gaming.

This is my first gaming machine in like, ever. So yeah that machine runs windows, has funky LED lighting, a gtx 4070 or something. No NetSuite work happening there πŸ™‚
