We are facing a considerable drop in performance with the extensions activations. Does anyone know of any way to update them without the need for activation? Only backend files

As far as I know, extension activation is the only correct way to update your frontend/backend extension code. We're experiencing slow activation times as well, and it often even times out. We have a ticket open for this.
