I created a new item field and we are using it on our website, type: document. When we assign the document in the UI it only shows a path on the website. What is the trick here?

The document field type just populates the document URL from the file cabinet.

@Flo Meilan that was expected but all I'm getting is that path.

use the path as an href and the document will open in a new window..?
