Hi all, is anyone running Old-ish SCA websites here? Prior to 2020.1? We seem to have found a potential issue with SEO Page Generator not properly rendering as the javascript compiling version utilized might be wrong (even on a vanilla version). I found it in one of our customers, but also on a few random old SCAs i checked
this is another site, NOT managed nor related with us
One hypothesis we have and would love to get an answer on is: was there a recent change in behavior from an SEO Engine perspective? Code seem to be compiled with ecma6 while that was not supported by SEO Engine - and again we are able to replicate this on a vanilla test with 2019.2, and on a totally unrelated SCA site that's been out there for years. @Steve Goldberg sorry to bug you! @Sebastian Alexis Gonzalez please correct any inaccuracy in my explanation or add further details if needed
btw it is not happening to ALL old SCAs. I can't find a pattern.

I can see the bug report and that it has been sent back to the dev team. I don't have any extra info

Let me clarify what Diego referred as vanilla, he is not talking about using the source SSP but rather deactivating all extensions on the dev one. The issue is present with no extensions selected on the dev SSP.

Hello everyone, we are having the same issue on some of our clients as well. The hot fix that we are using while this is being resolved, is to replace the
javascript-libs.js
manually after each deployment. Ehe easiest way is to find the
javascript-libs.js
on the src folder and copy it to the dev folder (assuming you haven't customized that file)

Thanks Matias, we thought about doing that but this customer is heavily customized and we don't have full track of their customizations history so replacing that file is non an immediate option. Knowing that alternative solution worked for you will increase the chances of it being a valid alternative if support delays the final and official fix.

In that case, you can backup the current
javascript-libs.js
on the dev folder and then replace it. If something is not working as expected you can re-add the current version. The good side is that is not that usual that someone modify the
javascript-libs.js
. Glad to help 💪

thanks for sharing the ideas, @Matias Lugli!

@Steve Goldberg thanks! so is there an issue number already? I mean, is this acknowledged as an "issue" on the NetSuite side?

Issue 832703. The dev team were able to replicate it and are now working on identifying a fix.

thank you @Steve Goldberg!!
sorry, one more question: what's the urgency level? @Steve Goldberg
Answering myself, it is an U3. I know there won't be enough cases associated to the issue, to make it be U2 by following the regular rules. But thing is: how are customers supposed to know or spot SEO Engine issues? This is very unique knowledge just some of us have - customers will not report it until its way too late. It takes months to recover afterwards. just my 2 cents. We should have a unique way of treating issues that aren't easy to spot, instead of leveraging the number of times these are reported.
