Starting to see this again. Anyone else? @kkennedydesign
s
Did you raise a case for this?
b
In process...
s
Cool. Looks pretty serious if you're getting errors from the Java
b
What's frustrating is that I'll spend two hours with support getting this setup as a case. They'll tell me they can't reproduce it.... we'll go back and forth. When really what should be happening is that the back-end exception management should be catching this and proactively posting this out to the community. </endrant> We will still setup a case.

@kkennedydesign I asked them to update my case with your case number as a reference.

Defect 576941: Website Error - Commerce Category"
b
@kkennedydesign Yes, I received the same defect #. This was proposed as a worked around until it is fixed. Basically put this script in an all pages CMS area....

Have you tried the script? basically what it does is it refreshes the page after 19 minutes a shopper remains idle
so this way the session does not end, and shoppers do not get the timeout
b
I understand what it does. Have not tried it yet. Thanks.
@Steve Goldberg I see that you were cc:'d on our case. Thank you for bringing attention to this.

we got the same patch suggestion…have not tried it yet.

I'll give this a shot later tonight and will report back
@kkennedydesign This worked in production. I installed the script, put some text in an input box and then waited. 19 minutes later the text was gone, due to the refresh. Navigating to a commerce category was successful.
Fairly certain this breaks PCI compliance, but for a week or so should be fine...
k
OK - my client wants to sit on this for a few days but we may move forward with it
just added it….we’ll see how it goes
b
We've had zero calls regarding it causing issues. Also the calls about the timeout issue have stopped.
k
yes - it seems to be working so far for us as well
