Is there a place in our instance were I can go to check the Netsuite Release/Version we are currently on?

On your homepage, you can scroll down and see it in the copyright footer.

If you scroll all the way to the bottom of your screen you will see what release you are on... should look like this:

there is other option (before they added the footer) - just view the source - last few lines after </html> tag will have your version, server
