I'm trying to set up the color facet but it does not actually show any of the colors in the widget. You can hover over the "invisible" options and filter correctly but for some reason I cannot see the colors. I have the configuration record set up as it says in this article https://developers.suitecommerce.com/section156587819021 with the only difference being the item field id

Do you have a defined list of colours?
And have you associated that list with the colour facet?

Where would I define the list? I'm unsure if it has been implemented yet.

Customisations > Lists, Record and Fields > Lists
You should have a custom list with your colours in it, and that list must be marked as a matrix option list

Yeah I have a list with an id of 
customlist9
set to matrix option list. I set color palette to customlist9 in the configuration record. I'm confused why the behavior is set to range in the article

yeah it shouldn't be
assuming you've configured the facet correctly, make sure you've also set values in layout > color palettes

make sure the your custom color lists matches the one in the color palette (it´s case sensitive btw)

next to the specified template you've set customlist9, that should be default to match the list of colours in your palette
in other words, if you specify colours in Layout > Color Palettes with the palette ID of "default" then that is the ID you must use in your facet configuration
